Valentine's Day

OK, so I realize that it is not spring yet, but I'm tired of winter so I'm hoping. The weather this time of year is always so strange and unpredictable. I took the following two pictures on Valentines Day, The first in my front yard, the second in my backyard.

These are hyacinths, they are my favorite flowers coming up already. I can't wait until they bloom. They are near my front door and I can smell them from my front porch.

So, I was not a very good Mom for Valentines Day. I didn't get up and make heart shaped pancakes with strawberry syrup for my family for breakfast. I just slept in until 9:00. When I did get up here is what I spent my Valentines day doing:
I watched a movie and tied a baby quilt with my Mom in the morning.
I took my girls and my Mom to see a play at our local high school. It was "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown," and they did a great job of it. I love going to plays, and we had a lot of fun.
For dinner, my hubby made pork chops with a port wine reduction and apple chutney which was really good. He had tried it in a restaurant while on a business trip and recreated it at home for us. At my oldest daughters request we did something we have never done before. We ate on my good china with my nice silver. Up until now they have always been either in storage, or on display in my china cabinet.
I told my hubby I didn't want him to buy me anything for Valentines day so instead he surprised me and while we were at the play he fixed an outlet in my bathroom and ran a new waterline to the ice maker in our freezer so it would work again. I was very pleased and impressed. It was a great Valentines Day gift. He gave me one of his most precious things, he gave up his spare time to do something for me.
